Still getting Hard Bounced emails, even after cleaning , find out why!

Still have Hard Bounced Emails

There are many reasons why you can get hard bounced emails.

bounced emails, return to senderIf you’re IP, domain and email campaign (copy) are clean and you’re still getting bounced e-mails, then most likely your list is not clean or clean enough!

However usually the majority of the time emails bounce back after cleaning is that your IP, Domain or both are dirty and are being blocked by the receiving servers.

Basically the servers bounced emails back as a precaution because they are not accepting anything from your IP or domain. If your IP or Domain is flagged as questionable or spamming then the receiving server simply bounces back any request (or email you send) to their servers.

Most servers also don’t allow emails that are spammy looking (content in body of email) as well so if your spam score is quite high they will also reject your email and bounce it back.

My list is clean, why am I still getting email bounce ?

My list is clean, why am I still getting email bounce ?

email bounce - cleanmyemails.comThese days when you are trying to in-box and/or IM (Internet Mailing) its much harder than it used to be. The main reason is the intelligence that the ISP’s (Internet Service Providers) have come up with to stop spam or unsolicited emails.

There are many background factors that you have to understand which will explain exactly WHY your email bounce or are not in-boxing.

The main reason why you have these problems is most likely the following:
Blocked IP or Domain – when an IP is abused (regardless if you did it nor not) it gets blacklisted, so if you just got a new server and didn’t check your IP’s health, you my have started out with a bad IP in the first place or you mailing practices poo pooed your IP. Read more

What is email Validation or Scrubbing? ( Part 1 )

What is email Validation or Scrubbing?

There are basically 2 main steps to truly cleaning your email lists.

email validationThe First is email Validation or Scrubbing (or sometimes cleaning? There are many names for it) but essentially what you do here is remove as much KNOWN crap as possible.  Verification is much costlier part of your overall data hygiene process, so email validation removes as much as possible before you need to verify, which saves you time and money. I’ll get into verification in my next posting.

When I say ‘Known’ crap I mean your suppression list (this is a list of known dead emails, spam traps, honey pots, complainers etc.) and you basically ‘scrub’ your list against the suppression list and remove any of the bad emails you have on your list.

There are many steps in email validation (removing) your list of harmful bad emails that you DO NOT want to mail to! Read more
